Jessica Ross, JD, LLM I know you all have been struggling lately, so glad to see you here. Have you seen an uptick in vaccine acceptance with the FDA approval or no?  Or maybe too soon to tell due to Ida?

Right now -----plan on getting the same shot, but it is possible that in the next few months they will see data that will enable to determine if you can mix and match Moderna and Pfizer

Before Ida, we’d seen a major uptick in vaccines-I think partially because of the dire state of Louisiana in terms of Covid-especially with respect to the Delta variant, and partially from the FDA approval. It’s very difficult to say what will happen with so many people still without power across Southeast Louisiana, and pharmacies and grocery stores mostly still closed in our area, and where they are open, there’s lines out the store. They had paused COVID reporting until lines of communication were reliably restored to some degree, but with people crowding at the houses, facilities, and business that have had power restored, I think it’s reasonable to expect a pretty big spike in cases from community spread over the next few weeks.  While our senior population has been more willing to get vaccinated, with our 70+ pop nearing 90 percent vaccinated, our younger populations are drastically lower, under 40 percent. The highest percentage of new cases was attributable to the age 5-17 population, as of Sept 2, so the vaccine availability for under 12 Is of critical importance here as we try to recover from 2 disaster scenarios simultaneously. 🤕
