Description: The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a harsh light on existing disparities in health and health care in the United States. There is a “fierce urgency of now” for evidence-based policy solutions that either address the underlying systemic injustices or mitigate their impacts on poor health. As a nation, we are at a critical moment of reflection and decision about the state of our health care system, public health infrastructure, and the social and structural drivers of health. We can do better. This brief lays out a plan for how.
