Thanks so much Roger! Its really tough here-

Its gotten so bad that, as reported by Goverber Edwards yesterday, "A person who had a heart attack had to take a 2-hour ambulance ride, passing 6 hospitals, to find a facility to care for them.

The other hospitals were filled with COVID patients." Our health care system has reached critical overload.
In positive news, I wanted to highlight a local senior who has personally vaccinated over 2000 people after losing her husband to COVID: Carla Brown, 62, is a nurse from Baton Rouge who, after unknowingly bringing the virus home to her family, made It her personal mission to educate the community about COVID and vaccinate as many as she could so that others would not have to witness the horror that she did. You can read more about her story here: https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/news/coronavirus/article_81479dc6-bff8-11eb-b8f6-1bb875875c44.html

She is such an inspiration and gives me great motivation to keep fighting even in the darkest times. 62 years young and 2000 shots and countinf, not a dose wasted!

We are awaiting guidance from our public health department (IL) for logistics or roll out for boosters. Most of the mass vaccination sites have closed, and while there are many vaccine sites, I'm curious as to how access will be.

Such a good point, Amy.  Some sources (I believe Dr. Murthy last night on TV) talked about pharmacies and doctor's offices would be major points of contact.  Because there is now 8 month before 3rd vaccine, hopefully demand will be spread out.  No crowds.  Still concerned about those who are home-bound and/or transportation challenged.

Roger Auerbach Yes great point about homebound. We are still struggling with that in some areas.

Roger Auerbach I agree.  While we're waiting for guidance on booster, a high workforce demand may be necessary without pulling from the hospital.  Planning for boosters will require us to coordinate in parallel with partial and unvaccinated groups.  This does not include the new expected age group for vaccination.  Now trying to strategize how do we minimize the crowd and chaos for all 4 groups without individuals feeling discouraged.

Tafaimamao Tupuola Totally understand.  Not sure what distribution has been like in AS, but the Surgeon General has said that pharmacies and doctor's offices will be major points of access.  The "good" news is that 3rd shot people will all be coming at different times, hopefully, because of when they had their last shot.  May be that more publicity about people getting a 3rd shot will encourage others to get vaccinated.  Appreciate your work!

Issue everywhere, Amy.  Locating all those will be challenging.
