Our elderly population has done an impressive job getting vaccinate loss, our greatest challenges are rural residents and young adults-for our rural population, my informal canvassing has yielded the following principles on my part-
Our rural folks lack the tech use and access to benefit from internet initiatives to combat vaccine hesitancy. The vast majority of them have indicated that they listen primarily to their local physician, both in terms of advising them to get the vaccine and the vaccination itself. Direct service providers, such as home services personnel, have also been mentioned frequently, but with Louisiana halting most activities like that until a few days ago, we didn’t have the impact we hoped via that route.
The other group I feel is especially vulnerable is our non-English speaking population, many of whom may or may not be documented, and are generally not very open and receptive to government involvement in their lives in any manner whatsoever, so it’s a challenge to be sure. -
