Inform USA Virtual Conference

Inform USA is hosting a virtual conference, “The Power of Connection,” on November 19 and 20. The conference will provide content tailored for front-line and entry-level team members, while also providing a mix of general sessions with leadership-level material. The No Wrong Door Resource Center, Massachusetts, and Missouri are presenting two sessions on the 19th – “Aging and Disability - Building Strong Aging & Disability Partnerships: Advancing No Wrong Door Through Community Navigation” and “A Person-Centered Approach to Community Navigation.” View the session list here. Houston-Galveston AAA Expands Access to Benefits and Services

The Houston-Galveston Area Agency on Aging (AAA) advances its No Wrong Door approach by building strong partnerships across a broad geographic area spanning the Gulf Coast region, which includes both urban and rural communities, to improve access to benefits and services. Recognizing that their Houston-based office is not easily accessible to all residents within its service area, they collaborate with libraries in counties such as Wharton, Montgomery, and Liberty to host monthly outreach and enrollment events. These “pop-up” events provide in-person assistance to older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their families, helping them navigate and enroll in programs such as Medicare, Medicare Savings Program, Low Income Subsidy, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, and Medicaid. By bringing services directly into local communities, they reduce access barriers to ensure individuals can connect with available supports regardless of where they live.
