Disability and Aging Partnerships in a No Wrong Door System
A No Wrong Door system is designed to serve all populations who may need long-term services and supports (LTSS). This includes older adults, people with all types of disabilities, and caregivers. The Disability and Aging Partnerships in No Wrong Door resource offers state examples of disability and aging organizations partnering to achieve their shared goal of streamlined access to LTSS. Check out the resource here.

This event follows the announcement of USAging’s new Caregiver Services and Supports Innovations Hub. The Hub is designed to promote exchange of innovative caregiver services and supports. Explore the Hub here.
September is Suicide Prevention Month
Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States. Older adults and people with disabilities are among those at greatest risk. Data show that people 85 and older have the highest suicide rate of any age group. Strong community supports, meaningful connections, and access to physical and behavioral health care can help protect people from suicide.
The aging and disability networks play an important role in building these protections. This September, ACL joins the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to increase awareness and promote resources aimed at suicide prevention. SAMHSA’s Suicide Prevention Awareness Month Toolkit includes fact sheets, shareable graphics, social media messages, and other materials you can use to raise awareness and connect people to help.
