Here is today’s Monday Mailer for you:

How States Are Leveraging Multisector Plans for Aging to Support Caregivers

The National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) and the Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) wrote a brief that draws on interviews with state officials in five states with varied geographies, governance structures, and multisector plan for aging (MPA) maturity — California, Maryland, North Carolina, Texas, and Vermont — to understand how they are translating MPA goals into concrete actions to support caregivers. “Expanding or creating public caregiving supports, including portals, resource centers, and No Wrong Door systems” was identified as a key domain for strengthening caregiver supports.

North Carolina applied the No Wrong Door framework and prioritized alignment across its caregiver initiatives to reduce duplication and improve program efficiency. The state is also working to streamline and coordinate entry into the long-term care system for older adults and their caregivers. Read the brief here.

NASHP and CHCS are hosting a webinar on the topic on September 17 from 2-3pm ET. The webinar will offer insights from MPA officials in three states: North Carolina, Texas, and Vermont. Register for the webinar here.

Applications are due October 20 at 5:00pm ET. Apply and read more about the RSVP program, pre-award requirements, training and technical assistance, and other resources here.
