No Wrong Door at HCBS Conference

The No Wrong Door Technical Assistance team attended the ADvancing States HCBS Conference in Baltimore last week. The team met with No Wrong Door grantees and hosted two sessions: Investing in Seamless Support: Financing State No Wrong Door Systems for Efficient LTSS Access and Have an MPA? Tips for Leveraging State No Wrong Door Systems to Increase Access to LTSS. Thank you to everyone who attended the sessions and engaged with our team!

Texas and Missouri, two of ten states  awarded two-year,  ACL  funded No Wrong Door System Governance grants, presented at HCBS Conference on Identifying, Assessing, and Enhancing No Wrong Door Systems. The session reviewed background on the grants, how Texas and Missouri approached implementation of their No Wrong Door systems, and next steps for sustainability. Their slides are attached.

No Wrong Door Governing Body Performance Measures Checklist

The No Wrong Door Governing Body Toolkit - Performance Measures Checklist provides guidance on the performance measures a No Wrong Door governing body can develop to assess the success of the No Wrong Door system and identify opportunities for growth. It is part of a compendium of materials to support No Wrong Door governance, including a Vision for NWD System Governance Checklist and the No Wrong Door Governing Body Meeting Checklist. In addition to No Wrong Door performance measures, this document also includes additional resources for broader long-term services and supports data collection and assessment. Access the resource here.

Veteran Directed Care

Veteran Ron Gasper is aging at home with the support of the Veteran Directed Care (VDC) program. VDC is a VA program designed for Veterans who need a high level of care but want to remain in their homes. It provides a monthly budget and lets Veterans hire their own caregivers, often a spouse, adult child, or close friend. Read more about Ron’s story and VDC here.
