Here is today’s Monday Mailer for you:

Caregiving Corner

Elder justice involves not only responding to elder abuse, but active efforts to prevent it. A key component of elder abuse is the failure by a caregiver to meet an older person’s basic needs or prevent them from harm. Because of this, organizations supporting caregivers’ ability to provide high-quality care may be viable candidates for ACL’s Elder Justice Innovation Grant program.

ACL is pleased to announce the availability of approximately $3 million to continue to support the Elder Justice Innovation Grant program. The program supports the development and advancement of knowledge and approaches in new and emerging issues related to elder justice and adult maltreatment prevention. ACL plans to award up to eight cooperative agreements to undertake a range of activities in response to this opportunity. Each project will be funded with a 36-month budget of up to $500,000. Applications are due July 30, 2025. Learn more and apply here.

Additional ACL Funding Opportunities with Potential to Support No Wrong Door Functions

  • ACL is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for $750,000 over two years to improve the provision of Adult Protective Services by current Older Americans Act Title VI grantees. The Tribal Adult Protective Services Demonstration is expected to fund five cooperative agreements of $150,000 to $200,000. Applications are due July 30, 2025. Learn more and apply here. Please share this opportunity with your Title VI partners.
  • ACL has released the Alzheimer's Disease Programs Initiative - Developing Dementia-Capable Community Health Worker Programs in the National Aging Network funding opportunity. Cooperative agreement grants will support the development and expansion of dementia-capable community health worker programs embedded in local area agencies on aging or state units on aging operating as a single planning and service area. Community health workers conduct similar activities to person-centered counselors in the No Wrong Door system. A recording of the informational call held for prospective applicants is available at 866-490-2538. Applications are due July 30, 2025. Learn more and apply here.
