Here is today’s Monday Mailer for you:
ACL Funding Opportunity
ACL’s National Lifespan Respite Care Program has announced approximately $2 million in new state program enhancement grants.
Respite care is a cornerstone of family caregiver support, providing crucial breaks that can lead to more effective caregiving. Without access to planned and emergency respite care, caregivers experience overall decreased quality of life and negative physical and mental health outcomes. The National Lifespan Respite Care Program supports family caregivers by funding state and local programs that offer flexible respite care options and care services. These efforts support health and independence across the lifespan, enhance well-being for caregivers and care recipients, and support the overall goal of making Americans healthier.
The grant requires that recipients work in collaboration with the state’s Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC)/No Wrong Door System and the statewide respite coalition or respite organization to design, implement, and manage a Lifespan Respite Care System.
Applicants will propose a clear, detailed plan that includes innovative approaches to advance and strengthen their lifespan respite care systems. Grantees are expected to build on previous efforts to improve access, delivery, and quality of respite care; improve service delivery coordination; and build effective statewide collaborations and partnerships. Questions about this funding opportunity should be directed to AoA.OAA@acl.hhs.gov. Learn more and apply here.
