Ideas to Promote Access to the Booster Shot

We have heard some innovative ideas such as Amy Lulich IL inserting a flyer in home delivered meals and WA Lexie Bartunek launching an in-home booster campaign.  Please tell us what your state/territory is doing to increase booster shots below and share resources!

Keely Lee anything to share on TX partnership with pharmacies and mobile unit?

Cynthia Brammeier anything to share on rural communities?

Christina Bowen Yes - Ohio is circling back to original vaccine recipients to offer boosters to those who received in-home vaccinations through our vaccine initiative earlier this year.

Delaware offered boosters to all who received in-home vaccinations. In addition, anyone can call the state's vaccine hotline to request the booster in-home if unable to go to a community location.

We have collaborated with a Home Health agency on a pilot for COVID Vaccine education, including Booster information. Unfortunately, we haven't had a great response rate and I feel the agency is just overwhelmed with staffing issues. We continue to discuss barriers with them, when we get a response back.

Yes, Oklahoma has partnered with the Oklahoma County Health Departments to provide vaccines and booster to the individuals that are determined to be homebound and their family caregivers. Our staff pre-screenings individuals interested in the vaccine to determine the barriers they may have. If they are homebound, the individual's demographic information is provided to the appropriate County Health Department. If they are not considered homebound, other resources are suggested such as transportation providers or making an online appointment to assist in breaking down any barriers to accessing the vaccines and boosters.
