Washington: Person-Centered Options Counseling Standards

Description: Community Living Connections (CLC), Washington State’s NWD System, adopted person-centered options counseling standards driven by person and family-centered practice. The standards define what person-centered options counseling covers, who delivers it, and under what circumstances, and tracks data and outcomes across the CLC network. The appendices in the standards include specific guidelines and tools for making referrals, definitions of key terms, standards for following-up with people, copies of several person-centered planning tools for discovery and decision support, staff evaluations, staff key competencies, and consumer satisfaction surveys. The CLC network is working toward achieving these standards as additional capacity can be built throughout the system.
