Proactive Vaccine Outreach Strategy: Colorado: Fast Lane for Vaccines

CO ADRCs have been connecting individuals with Older Americans Act transportation services to get to vaccine appointments. A barrier encountered in one local ADRC area has been transportation providers’ inability to wait for the person to stand in line, receive the vaccine and sustain the 15 minute waiting period. The ADRC worked with their transportation services contractor and local public health officials and identified a solution with a “fast lane” for individuals to access for quicker service. When the ADRC schedules the appointment, they are able to let the site know that person should skip the line and be served right away.
