Here is today’s Monday Mailer for you:

National Plan on Aging (NPA) News

  • Last month, ACL released the report, “WHAT WE HEARD: Initial Feedback on The Strategic Framework for a National Plan on Aging,” sharing the feedback gathered from older adults and community organizations across the country on the Strategic Framework. Community feedback emphasized the advancement of the No Wrong Door approach in order to streamline and simplify access to long-term services and supports (LTSS). Suggestions for ways to increase access to LTSS start on page 18. Read the full report here.

Other Items

  • The Community Living Equity Center (CLEC) at the Lurie Institute for Disability Policy at Brandeis University recently launched its Community Living Equity Dashboard. It provides national and state-level data to explore who needs and receives long-term services and supports (LTSS). This tool represents an important step forward in LTSS data transparency and equips advocates with data to assess their state’s LTSS landscape, defend existing services, and advocate for expansions based on unmet need. The CLEC will host a webinar on January 16th at 3:00 ET to introduce and explore the dashboard. Justice in Aging’s Hannah Diamond will join a panel to share how we will use this tool in our advocacy. Register for the webinar here.

  • The SCAN Foundation released a policy brief on “How State Plans on Aging (SPAs) and Multisector Plans for Aging (MPAs) Align to Serve Older Adults” which outlines the differences between MPAs and SPAs, along with opportunities states have taken to align both plans. View the full brief here.
