Virginia: Virginia Assistive Technology System (VATs) Guidebooks and Resources

Description: The Virginia Assistive Technology System (VATS) is the name of the state’s Assistive Technology Act program. The goal of VATS is to increase access to and acquisition of assistive technology (AT) devices and services for Virginians of all ages, disabilities, and areas of the state. VATS partnered with Virginia No Wrong Door to address the independence, health, and safety of older adults and individuals with disabilities. VATS is providing three AT kits, available to No Wrong Door partners: Emergency Preparedness, Social Health, and Training. The guidebooks for the Emergency Preparedness and Social Health kits are included and the Training kits are customized based on the local NWD partner's needs. These kits and collaboration between VATS and NWD is helping to improve the capacity of the NWD system to better service older adults and Virginians with disabilities. A VATS YouTube video is available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ik4RiX-zsxE
